Estimation of Equivalent Diagonal Strut and Shear Strength of URM Wall Infilled RC Frame
Abstract
In this study, RC frames with URM wall for typical school buildings in Korea are experimentally investigated to evaluate their seismic capacity. For this purpose, onebay, one-fourth scale specimens with URM walls are tested under in-plain loading. In this paper, the diagonal strut mechanism of URM wall is discussed using principal compressive strains on URM wall. The lateral strength carried by URM wall and RC frame are also explained based on the compressive stress acting on URM wall and the curvature distribution along both columns during the test.
