High-Performance Distributed Brillouin Optical Fiber Temperature/Strain Sensors and Their Applications in Structure Health Monitoring
Abstract
In this paper, I will introduce the development of the high-performance distributed Brillouin optical fiber temperature/strain sensors under the cooperation between Harbin Institute of Technology (China) and University of Ottawa (Canada). The content includes long-rang distributed Brillouin optical fiber sensing with a 150km sensing range, high-spatial-resolution distributed Brillouin optical fiber sensing with a 2-cm resolution, and dynamic distributed Brillouin optical fiber sensing. The applications include the real-time monitoring of railway traffic and the full-scale strain distributions under load test of Haicang Bridge in Xiamen, China.
