Study on the Strategy of Structure Health Monitoring on Chinese Railway Freight Car

Abstract

The structure health monitoring system of railway freight car is operating under the railway transportation safety system and the railway freight car maintenance system. The structure health monitoring system of railway freight car, an integration system of hardware and software, provides the indicating information about faults and failures for the railway transportation safety system and the reference data for the railway freight car maintenance system. This paper presents a brief introduction about the current situation of structure health monitoring technology of Chinese railway freight car, proposes the strategy for structure health monitoring of railway freight car and states the key monitoring technologies that should be concerned in railway freight car development. Necessary suggestions to improve the railway infrastructure are proposed to let the structure monitoring technology of railway freight car function better.
