A Strategy to Multi-scale Modeling of Stochastic Heterogeneous Material

S.J. ZENG, J. LI

Abstract

The behavior of heterogeneous materials, especially concrete, is often dominated by the coupling of randomness and nonlinearity. In order to describe these behaviors, a class of microscopic stochastic damage model is developed. In present paper, the stochastic harmonic function, which is proposed by the authors’ research group, is compared with the K-L Decomposition. And the comparison results show that the stochastic harmonic function can represent the fracture strain random field with least random variables. Based on this, the stochastic fluctuation of heterogeneous material response in macro-scale can be conducted based on the microscopic stochastic damage model.
