Coupling Vibration Model of In-Bore Balloting

SATORU SHOJI

Abstract

The objective of this work is to find the cause of high variability of jump. The presented model has a new feature that the total clearance gap between rod, sabot and tube is incorporated in the calculation. The clearances are found responsible for the shot-to-shot dispersion of impact together with the regional warp of tube center line. The balloting model based on vibration theory makes the degree of freedom drastically less, and made it possible to calculate the motion of one shot in 10 minutes. This allows us the parametric calculation of each candidate factor. The formulated model can predict the details of rod motion in a dynamically deflecting tube. We could not have pointed out the name of item that brings about high variability though, it has become possible to tell the critical values of the specific property that is responsible for high variability of jump.
