Abstract

The ammunition hood is an important part of the ammunition structure. In this paper, based on the projectile thrown by the explosion, the concave deformation of the typical area of the hood is modeled. Through the wind tunnel test and fluid simulation calculation, the influence of the hood deformation on the aerodynamic parameters of the ammunition and the flight trajectory is analyzed. The results show that the deformation of the cylindrical section of the hood has little effect on aerodynamic parameters and flight trajectory, while the deformation of the top and circular section has a greater effect. Moreover, the deformation of the hood mainly affects the flight speed and ballistic convergence time of the ammunition, but has little effect on the inclination and angle of attack of the ballistic terminal. The research results provide reference for the structure and protection design of the head cover.
