Heat Transfer by Convection and Radiation Under High Temperature Gradients
Abstract
We study the contribution of convection and radiation to the total thermal diffusivity in two concrete composite materials. First, we obtain the diffusivity by the standard flash method in which only the conduction mode is contained. Then we obtain the diffusivity by an inverse method of heat conduction from measured thermal fields during a one-sided heating. Since the latter diffusivity contains also the convection and radiation modes, the net contribution of these modes results upon the comparison with the flash method diffusivity
