A Robust Cyclic Elastoplastic Constitutive Framework for Fatigue Life Analysis

J.L. CHABOCHE, P. KANOUTÉ, F. AZZOUZ

Abstract

The paper describes present capabilities for modelling the progressive mean stress relaxation observed under strain control. One difficulty is associated with the incomplete mean stress relaxation for low strain amplitudes, though the classical models based on Armstrong-Frederick kind of rules lead to a rapid vanishing of the mean stress. Coupling with the cyclic softening effect is another specific difficulty for the materials under application.
