Viscoelastic Relaxation of Bulk Metal Glass Zr46.75Ti8.25Cu7.5Ni10Be27.5 at High Temperature
Abstract
The internal friction of the bulk metallic glass (BMG) Zr46.75Ti8.25Cu7.5Ni10Be27.5 (at. %) originates from the viscoelasticity. The viscoelastic internal friction increases with decreasing vibration frequency at higher temperatures and increases with increasing frequency at lower temperatures. It gives rise to a minimum as a function of frequency. The proposed viscoelastic relaxation three-parameter model can be used to describe the viscoelastic internal friction of the present BMG.
