

Analysis of Thermo-mechanical Interaction in Membranes
Abstract
Considering high temperature gradient, the non-Fourier heat conduction and the couple stresses,the simulation results of one dimensional transient for finite thick membrane shows that the thermal shock is always company with the high temperature gradient and high couple stresses. The larger delay time, the larger stress and couple stresses on the surface layer. So it is a basic principle to choose material with shorter delay time as the exterior surface layer and that with longer delay time as subsurface layer in thermal insulation design.
