Activated Slip Systems in Copper Polycrystal under Multiaxial Fatigue Loadings
Abstract
This paper present an experimental investigation of the plastic slip activity on the surface of Oxygen Free High Conductivity (OFHC) copper specimens. Surface topology of the specimen is investigated during uniaxial and multiaxial fatigue testing. Persistent slip bands (PSBs) topology evolution, kinetics of onset and progression are characterized using AFM. The slip systems that can be considered as activated are also discussed based on the evolution of the resolved shear stress (RSS) under cyclic loading.
