Vibration Analysis of Embedded Microtubules within Elastic Medium
Abstract
The embedded microtubules, within the elastic medium, responsible for maintaining cell shape, are the essential part of the cytoskeleton in eukaryotic cells. Based on the fact that the microtubules are surrounded by the elastic medium, we developed an orthotropic shell Winkler- like model to investigate the vibrational behavior of the microtubules within the elastic medium. Modeling the microtubules as anisotropic elastic shell, we derive the Eigenfrequencies and Eigenmodes of elastic vibration of the embedded microtubules.
