Abstract

A method was developed for determination of the migration of nonylphenol (4-nonylphenol and nonylphenol), octylphenol (4-octylphenol and octylphenol) from food contact material to food simulants by liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry(LC-MS). The food contact material was contact with 4% acetic acid, 10% ethanol, 20% ethanol, 50% ethanol and isooctane, the nonylphenol and octylphenol in food simulants were quantitative analysis by external standard method by LC-MS. The result showed that the calibration curves of nonylphenol and octylphenol was liner in the range of 0.001-0.2 mg kg-1 with correlation coefficients not less than 0.99. The spiked recoveries of NP and OP at different spiked levels were in the range of 94%-115% and 90%-115% with relative standard deviations(RSD) of 1.7%-8.0% and 1.5%-6.9%. The limits of detection (LOD) were 0.001 mg kg-1 and 0.0005 mg kg-1 for NP and OP, respectively. The limits of quantitation (LOQ) were 0.005 mg kg-1 and 0.001 mg kg-1 for NP and OP, respectively. This method was precise, highly sensitive and accurate, which can be applied in qualitative and quantitation analysis of the migration of nonylphenol and octylphenol in the food simulants.
