Future Time Perspective and Procrastination in Chinese Emerging Adults: The Mediation Role of Grit

Abstract


Objective The current study aimed to examine the relationship between future time perspective and procrastination in Chinese emerging adults, and explore whether grit plays a mediating role between future time perspective and procrastination. Methods Participants were 350 Chinese college students (girls were 193, boys were 116). Results 1. The degree of future time perspective and grit is relatively high. The degree of procrastination in college students is medium level.2. There is a significant negative correlation between college students' future time perspective and procrastination. There is a significant positive correlation between future time perspective and grit, and there is a significant negative correlation between grit and procrastination. 3. Grit plays a partial intermediary role between future time perspective and procrastination.
