Investigation and Analysis of Current Situation of Academic Discipline in Application-oriented Local Colleges and Universities with Its Coping Strategies—A Case Study of Tangshan College

Abstract


In view of the problems existing in the construction of academic discipline in application-oriented local colleges and universities, a questionnaire survey was conducted to investigate approximately 1000 undergraduates in Tangshan College. Numerous types of unsatisfactory towards academic discipline and respondents’ learning status were found in this investigation, mainly including responsibility and perseverance deficiency, low level of interest and initiative in learning, efforts shortage, halfhearted learning attitude, insufficient learning outcomes, etc. This requires urgent attention to create a better campus culture atmosphere, better learning environment and better construction of excellent teachers, with joint efforts from schools, teachers and students to achieve a fundamental improvement in academic discipline situation.
