A Study on the Effectiveness of Corpus-assisted Writing Teaching on the Learners’ Productive Use of Chunks

Abstract


This study constructed the writing corpus that consists of 4 groups of data. Then the lexical chunks extracted are comparatively analyzed from different perspective to find out how COCA-assisted writing teaching and traditional writing teaching influence the learners’ use of chunks and whether there is any difference between them. And the result of this study shows that COCA-assisted teaching has a great effect on certain type of chunks.
