Launch Dynamics of a Canisterised Missile
Abstract
Vibration of a missile canister during launch can damage the missile. Understanding this dynamics is a vital aspect of launcher design. A detailed system level finite element model was made including the launcher, missile and various systems. Transient dynamic simulation of the launch was performed subsequently. The model was validated by experimental measurements of launcher vibration. Using the model, an insight was obtained on dynamics of launcher missile interaction. The safe launch of the missile was ensured. The modeling approach was experimentally validated.
