

Interior Ballistic Model with Variable Burn Rate Coefficients for Gun Propulsion System
Abstract
A lumped parameter model has been formulated. Model has been programmed in MATLAB. Different propulsion system parameters like propellant, cartridge case, igniter, projectile and gun system are input to the program and projectile velocity and chamber pressure distribution are the major outputs. The model is validated with 105mm howitzer gun firing data from literature. The model, only after incorporating variable burn rate coefficients with pressure, has been tried with 120mm tank gun of HEMRL firing data with reasonable agreement
