Experimental and Numerical Results of High-Speed Penetration of Projectiles with Concrete and Soil
Abstract
Results of high-speed interaction studies of rigid projectiles with concrete slabs are presented. Experimental and analytical data regarding damage zones and concrete deformation character is presented. The simulations were realized in AUTODYN and used physical-mathematical model of high-speed impact problem, taking into consideration its hardening during dynamic deformation according to Balandin criterion. The simulations represent the process of impact interaction qualitatively and quantitatively correctly, including such process features as crack formation, front and back spall and damage of concrete and forming a cavity in the sand.
