Research on Kinetic Characteristic and Dynamic Simulation of Direction Controllable Active Electromagnetic Armor
Abstract
Active electromagnetic (EM) armor comprises detection system, intellectual control system, high pulsed-power supply and EM launcher together. Direction controllable active electromagnetic armor is composed of two flat-plate electromagnetic launchers that placed at a certain angle. Electromagnetic launcher consists of drive coil, insulator, base plate and interceptor. In this paper, the construction of active electromagnetic armor was introduced. Based on the electromagnetism theory and the equivalent circuit equation, the dynamic equation of the direction controllable active electromagnetic armor was established. The relationship between the velocity and the angle of the interceptor and the initial voltage was also analyzed. Based on the conclusions obtained in this paper, the structure of the interceptor was optimized. According to the results of dynamic numerical simulation which is carried out with Ansoft Maxwell software, the EM force acting on the interceptor, the velocity and displacement versus time were obtained.
