Abstract

When the air-breathing pulse detonation engine (APDE) is with the central cone-scales valve(CCSV), the effect of equivalent ratios and operating frequencies has been studied, under the working condition of the gasoline as the fuel and the oxygen content coefficient of 5%. The experimental results shows that with the equivalent ratio increased from 0.97 to 1.26, the detonation wave’s peak pressure, the propagation velocity and the ignition time will increase, but the effective thrust will increase first and then decrease. Moreover, when the operating frequency is increased from 8 to 18 Hz, the ignition time will decreases, and however, the effect thrust will almost linearly increase with the operating frequency, and the average thrust of a single waveform is almost equivalent to 5.2〜5.5N.
