Effects of Multi-Point Initiation Control Parameters on Mach Wave Overpressure
Abstract
Effects of the multi-point initiation control parameters (i.e., the initiation diameter and number of initiation points) on Mach wave overpressure are investigated. The interaction of a double symmetric detonation wave caused by two-point initiation is analyzed employing the Whitham method, thus obtaining the trace of triple point, the pressure and the area of the Mach wave acting on metallic liner at different initiation diameters. The pressure of Mach wave at different initiation points and initiation diameters was calculated. It is noted that the area of the Mach wave decreases but the pressure of the Mach wave increases as the initiation diameter increases. The pressure of central ultrahigh-pressure area at the vertex increases as the number of initiation points increases, but to be a constant when the initiation point number increases to a certain amount.
