Abstract

Two types of shaped charge comprised of reactive material liner, which can generate exothermal reaction by certain external action, were designed to promote the damage effect. One design contained two layers of liners, which can form a short and wide explosive formed penetrator (EFP). The other design contained three layers of liners, which can form a long and thin EFP. The composition of reactive material is aluminum/polytetrafluoroethylene mixtures. The results of the numerical simulation and the experiments show that, the reactive material shaped charge with three layers of liners has higher penetrating ability on steel target, higher adaptive capacity on the burst height, higher cladding effect on the reactive material.
