Influence of Muzzle Devices use on Accuracy of Competition Weapons

Abstract

The following article is a summary of the comparison testing of small arms weapons used in sport competition (IDPA, IPSC etc.). The test includes GLOCK 19 and 19C pistols, AKMS rifle and Heckler & Koch 416 rifle with and without an underslung grenade launcher and covers the accuracy testing of a weapon with different muzzle attachments. The shooting was conducted in a dynamic shooting manner with double taps and triple taps by a highly trained shooter. The measurements were conducted with high speed accuracy light gates. The paper is concluded with a summary and proposals for future expansion of this topic.
