Abstract

To study the combustion characteristics of propellant under high pressure conditions in the bore, a closed bomb system was used to carry out high-pressure combustion experiments. An exponential burning rate law in the range 30MPa ~ 350MPa was obtained. A combined optimal method with a multi-island genetic algorithm (MIGA) and sequential quadratic programming (SQP) was applied to search for the best-fitting burning rate law with the experimental pressure. Results show that the pressure obtained by the optimization method agrees with the experimental one better than the conventional method and the high-pressure burning rate characteristic can be represented more precisely.
