Consistency Research on Interior Ballistic of Small Caliber Electrothermal-Chemical Launching
Abstract
A method for expression of interior ballistic consistency was presented to describe the consistency of a small caliber electrothermal-chemical (ETC) launching tests. For a group of N tests with the same ETC launching conditions, if x was a test parameter, each test value could be written as xi. We could calculate and obtain both the arithmetic mean value and standard deviation estimate. Hence, the consistency factor k of this test parameter can be defined as the arithmetic mean value divided by the standard deviation estimate. And the smaller the value k shows the better consistency of the data. This consistency factor could be employed to describe the consistency of both different parameters and same parameter in a group tests. The firing tests of the small caliber ETC launching were conducted. And the consistency of ETC launching tests was researched. Influences of parameters on the ballistic consistency were discussed through the consistency factor.
