Compression Behaviour of Pseudo-Ductile Carbon/Glass Hybrid Laminates Pre-Fractured in Tension
Abstract
Specimens with a pseudo-ductile high strength carbon / S-glass hybrid sublaminate near one surface were loaded in bending, producing various degrees of fragmentation in tension. They were then turned over and loaded in compression, showing a substantial reduction in residual compressive strain due to early delamination, but the degree of pre-fragmentation did not have a pronounced effect.
