Efficiency Enhancement of an Unstructured CFD-Code on Distributed Computing Systems
Abstract
In this paper we describe several improvements with respect to parallel efficiency and scalar performance of unstructured CFD-Codes. The optimizations are genericin the sense that they are applicable to any CFD-Code which works on unstructured grids. The code modifications were sucessively introduced in the DLR TAU-Code and the results of the optimizations are demonstrated on two different aircraft configurations. We give an outlook of further improvements with respect to upcoming multicore computing architectures.
