Analysis of the Effects of Nonlinear Characteristics of Lag Dampers on Helicopter Ground Resonance
Abstract
The nonlinear effects of two kinds of dampers on helicopter ground resonance have been analyzed, which are a hydraulic damper with the filling-oil device and a magneto-rheological damper. A simplified two dimensional model is employed. The dimensionless form of the differential equations of motion is obtained using Lagrange’s approach and introducing new variables. The time domain analysis method is applied to obtain responses of rotor lead-lag and fuselage motions. The comparison data of systems with different dampers are calculated. Results show that the limit cycle amplitude increases with increasing the free-play of the filling oil valve and the system stability is enhanced when the voltage value increases
