35. Durability and Aging of Composite Fabric Composite HTP A320 Aircraft Structures
Abstract
Durability of composites systems can be challenged now by findings of the teardown of Airbus composite parts coming from V10F, ATR72 and HTP A320 aged analysis. Ageing results will be commented on this presentation particularly for HTP MSN04 A320 composites stabilizer manufactured in woven composites Kexply W3T-282-42-F593-14 after 20 years of service. It’s not new to conclude that the structural integrity over its service life of ageing composites is good. What is new is that ageing composites can be optimized by the design office concerning significant weight saving. Better prediction of real moisture ingress and modulus and allowable properties at end of life are needed.
