An Ontology Construction Method Based on Formal Concept Analysis

Abstract


The basic concept of Formal Concept Analysis is formal context, formal concept and concept lattice. Concept lattice is an effective tool for data analysis and knowledge representation. By Formal Concept Analysis (FCA) theory, we put forward the construction method of ontology. The features methods are as follows: it merges the concept lattices to generate the optimized concept lattice in an up-bottom for expressing user’s interests. Then through LMOA algorithm of concept lattice-ontology transformation, it changes the optimized concept lattice into ontology. The experiment proves that the ontology can be achieved effectively by merging concept lattices and provide the semantic relations more precisely.
