Study on the Resistance of Raveling for Porous Asphalt Pavement

Porous asphalt (PA) pavement with large air voids tends to produce raveling phenomenon because of the properties of adhesive material and the impact of application environment. The method of preparation of PA mixture which has high resistance of raveling is optimizing each indicator. The indicators can be obtained from the raveling test of PA mixture considering adding HVA, asphalt binder and external mixing agent to the PA mixture. It is more scientific for PA mixture with small nominal max aggregate size in the upper layer of double layer PA pavement to use plate type abrasion test method to evaluate its resistance of raveling.
