Wireless Network Planning Strategy Based on Optimal Energy Consumption and Network Load

Abstract


Saving power on base stations (BSs) and improving user communication quality become critical issues in wireless cellular networks. In this paper, we propose a BS planning algorithm based on multi-objective optimization. The optimization objective is the lowest energy consumption and load balancing between networks. The NSGA-II algorithm is used to solve the problem, and then the TOPSIS method is used to find the optimum scheme. The simulation results show that the proposed algorithm can effectively reduce the system energy consumption and improve the load balancing between networks.
