Optimal Design of High Pressure Toroidal Tank Produced by Wrapping with Durable Composite

Structure - technology solution for light, high-pressure toroidal tanks with high strength composite materials, applicable to structures in missiles, flying and special devices, is proposed. The basic equations for calculation of the structure parameters of these tanks has been built. Based on these equations the designs of high-pressure toroidal tanks for an anti-ship missile and a special device has been realized. Calculation results indicate that the designed composite tank’s weight may be reduced significantly, compared to similar tanks made from high-strength steel.
