Study of High-Speed Aluminum Rod Non-Destructive Recovery Device
Abstract
A soft medium recovery device has been designed and studied. Within the velocity range of 800â€1200m/sec, the high-speed aluminum flat head rods were used for nonâ€destructive recovery by flour medium. We obtained the drag coefficient of aluminum flat head rod in flour. In addition, the velocity decay curve of instantaneous penetration velocity above the critical speed was also measured. It can provide an important and helpful theoretical guideline for non-destructive recovery of high-speed projectiles and soft-recovery device design. Furthermore, the study can be used to complete the research of soft-recovery recovery device for high-speed aluminum rod.
