New Launch Principle Artillery with Single Chamber and Multiple Barrels

Abstract


This article describes new launch principle artillery, which consists of one chamber with multiple barrels. On the basis of the idea, the author establishes the interior ballistic model and the hit rate model of artillery, analyzes and calculates the interior ballistic performance, exterior ballistic performance and hit rate of the artillery. According to the analysis, compared with the traditional artillery, single chamber multi-barrel artillery(SCMBA) can improve the muzzle velocity and hit rate of artillery at the same time. The main reason is that the ratio of the chamber volume and projectile mass improves greatly, so the pressure curve decline becomes more gently, to help improve the muzzle velocity. The other hand, the projectiles have the same muzzle velocity, with a parallel trajectory, reach a predetermined location at the same time, and form dense intercept barrage, which is conducive to intercept missiles or other high-speed aircraft.
