Comparative Analysis of X-Ray Experiment and Numerical Simulation of Soil Ballistic

Abstract


The projectile in the process of penetrating into the soil is easy to generate ballistic instability phenomenon, which has considerable influence on the projectile penetration and damage. Therefore, it is necessary to analyze and study the motion law and ballistic characteristics of the projectile penetrating into soil. In this paper, the experiment method to obtain the ballistic information of the projectile penetrating into soil by the X-ray camera was established. The experiments obtained the images of the ballistic trajectory of the projectile penetrating soil and the images were analyzed. At the same time, the ballistic trajectory of the projectile with different departure angle was calculated by LS-DYNA. And the numerical simulation provided the posture and movement characteristics of the projectile penetrating into soil. The attitude and ballistic trajectory characteristics of the projectile obtained by the numerical simulation were in agreement with the experimental images and had high reliability.
