Experimental Study on the Effect of Propellant Fracture on the Combustion Properties Under Low Temperature
Abstract
Three kinds of propellant fracturing experiment are conducted at two different impacting velocity and low temperature (-40) in order to study the effect of the damaged propellant on the combustion performances. The smashed samples are put in order and analyzed. The static combustion test of the smashed propellant is conducted under the low temperature in the closed bomb. The results indicate that, the larger the ratio of the broken propellant, the bigger the gas generation speed in the low pressure range less than 100MPa, and the faster the pressure rising. The results can provide guidance for the design and study of a new high energy propellant.
