Research on Exterior Ballistics Characteristics of Rocket Projectile Based on Intelligent Morphing Technology

Abstract


In order to study the exterior ballistics characteristics of a rocket projectile with deflection nose based on intelligent morphing technology, methods of numerical simulation and experiment are adopted in the research process. Firstly, aerodynamic parameters for the rocket projectile with a deflection nose were obtained by numerical simulation for the flow field. Typical wind tunnel tests were also conducted to verify the accuracy of the simulation data. Secondly, a 6-degree of freedom dynamic model is presented for calculation of the exterior ballistics of the rocket projectile with a different nose deflection angle. Thirdly, flight tests conducted by the authors’ research group are introduced and test results are given. These show that simulation results agree well with the experimental data. Lastly, some meaningful conclusions are made based on the previous research. All the work is useful for further research and engineering application on adaptive intelligent missile based on intelligent morphing technology.
