Molecular Modeling of Crosslinked High-Temperature Bismaleimide Resins: Matrimid-5292

Abstract


The crosslinked structure of Matrimid-5292 was built for Molecular Dynamics simulation using a novel, adaptable crosslinking framework to execute a total of 5 distinct cure reactions. The influence of cure reactions modeled and extent of curing were analyzed on the density, glass transition temperature, coefficient of thermal expansion, elastic moduli, and thermal conductivity. The developed models correctly predict experimentally observed trends for various properties.
